Green waste skip bins Hobart gardeners use
Hobart gardens grow fast, and a weekend of pruning can produce far more than the council bin will hold. Our green waste skip bins in Hobart let you get the whole job done without leaving piles on the lawn.
What can go in a green waste bin:
- Grass clippings, leaves and weeds
- Prunings, hedge trimmings and palm fronds
- Branches, small logs and bark
- Shrubs, plants and garden timber
Keep plastic pots, garden hoses, treated timber and general rubbish out of a green waste bin so the load can be recycled. If your clean up is mixed, a general waste bin is the better choice.
Green waste bin sizes and prices
Our green waste bins are priced the same way as our general bins, with tip fees, drop off and pick up included:
- 2m³, $350: a small prune or tidy up
- 4m³, $550: hedges and a few shrubs
- 6m³, $650: a full garden overhaul
- 10m³, $1,200: tree work and landscaping projects
- 20m³, $2,300: large blocks and storm clean ups
Removing soil or turf as part of a landscaping job? Dirt goes in its own concrete and dirt bin. Read more about our skip bins for green waste and garden waste removal, or call 0457 032 967.
Best time of year for a green waste bin
In Kingborough and the Huon, our large green waste bins are busiest in spring and autumn, when gardens are cut back and leaves drop. Book a little ahead in those seasons, or use our same day service when the weather turns good.
